TABITABIYA's handmade designs, in keeping with the Japanese tradition, present original items, all made with either new quality Japanese fabrics or vintage kimono, haori jackets or obi belts that I found during my hunts in second-hand kimono shops. Because yes, in Japan, when kimono, haori, obi, etc. can no longer be worn, that's how they find a new life!
 
The pattern for this cushion cover is inspired by the magnificent wooden ceilings of Old Japan that were dotted with decorated squares adorned with magnificent floral motifs among many others> Some can still seen today in temples, samurai houses, or old brothels, etc... This Gotenjo 格天井 pattern cushion cover has a ceiling cut in white and gold vintage obi sash fabrics and is decorated with squares featuring floral designs dyed in vibrant pink chirimen fabric and a vintage obi belt with elegant lamé and pretty powder pink embroidery which contrasts nicely with the chirimen fabric and brings even more elegance to the whole.
