ONLY ONE CUSHION COVER I STORE!

TABITABIYA's handmade designs, in keeping with the Japanese tradition, present original items, all made with either new quality Japanese fabrics or vintage kimono, haori jackets or obi belts that I found during my hunts in second-hand kimono shops. Because yes, in Japan, when kimono, haori, obi, etc. can no longer be worn, that's how they find a new life!

This cushion cover was made of a vintage high-ranking Homongi 訪問着 style kimono whose bottom featured a beautiful freehand dyed painting using the Yûzen 友禅 technique, which depicts a Jinja 神社 Shinto shrine landscape at the edge of sea seen from above through Ume 梅 plum blossoms in full bloom. We love here not only the beauty of the pattern but also the elegance and softness of the chosen color palette. I have associated two other fabrics which add other floral motifs to this painting, such as the Sakura 桜 cherry blossoms, whose petals fall, and the Kiku 菊 chrysanthemum flowers as well as Momiji 紅葉 the red leaves of maple trees in autumn to take us through the seasons in a single image.
