TABITABIYA's handmade designs, in keeping with the Japanese tradition, present original items, all made with either new quality Japanese fabrics or vintage kimono, haori jackets or obi belts that I found during my hunts in second-hand kimono shops. Because yes, in Japan, when kimono, haori, obi, etc. can no longer be worn, that's how they find a new life!
 
This cushion cover is incredibly elegant! We particularly like the audacity of this orange shade tinged with pink to which the lines of white and gold bring chic!
A geometric pattern from the animal world that we particularly like: Kikkô 亀甲, the scales on the back of the turtle, a symbol of good fortune and longevity. Its geometry gives character to the whole. But the effect is softened by the delicacy of another motif, vegetal and imaginary, woven into the silk using the Fusenryô weaving technique: the most mysterious of flowers, Karahana 唐花. Karahana came from China to Japan, it was born from the desire of men to render in just one flower the quintessence of the beauty of all the flowers they admired the most, such as, among others, the lotus flower, and the peony, two flowers which have a quite special place in the world of Chinese and Japanese motifsThe arabesques that surround it add a delicate movement to the elements chosen on this obi belt that has become cushion covers for your greatest pleasure!
 
Even though it has quite a modern feel about it already, I decided to add even more contrast to this obi belt to make it even more contemporary by contrasting it with two black stripes cut in a vintage haori fabric.
