Vintage! Second-hand haori, jacket for Japanese kimono.
 
An intense and warm color for this e-baori 絵羽織, a haori that paints a picture for us. Here, what is this beautiful image? It is that of  plum blossoms on the branches of their tree Eda-Ume 枝梅 tree in a sumptuous movement that unfolds alln across the silk fabric used for this haori.  The white and pink color of the flowers is here symbolized by shiny threads of a different color. The brilliance of the threads brings back to us the magnificence of the flowers in the omeshi fabric tradition of Niigata Prefecture which used gold and silver lamé threads. the haura,  the inner lining, offers us to see another flower of which we do not see very well what it could be. On a white background that contrasts sharply with the ocher of the haori, this floral image reminds us of the Majolica Omeshi マジョリカ-inspired patterns, patterns of pottery from the island of Majorca. This jacket  is in excellent condition and you can wear it with no problem!

The haori, a jacket worn over a Japanese kimono, is perhaps THE Japanese garment that TABITABIYA fell in love with the most!
